Our client offers one of the most extensive services and products portfolio on the market, combining comprehensive solutions and services for agriculture and industries in Africa.

The line of products and services are Fertilizers and Crop protection products for agriculture as well as a broad range of Chemical products and services for the industries.

Today we are looking to recruit a Trader Industrial Chemicals to be based in Geneva




  • Develop and expand the direct sales of chemicals and raw materials on the African continent:
    • Develop the sales with existing and new customers
    • Add value to our activity by offering a complementary service to the distribution model
    • Offer Chemicals to specific segments of the industry: Water treatment, Household & Personal care, Packaging, Paint & construction.

 Primary Accountabilities

  • In interaction with the local sales teams, target customers and expand our share of wallet by adding direct sales to the offer
  • Develop the direct sales in countries outside our perimeter
  • Assess customer financial strength and propose financial conditions to the credit risk. Follow up customer’s payments with Finance.
  • Prospect new customers, manage existing accounts and work on a pipeline of new opportunities
  • Together with the Execution team, make sure a top level of service is provided to the customer for optimal customer satisfaction on order execution
  • Together with Product management build an adapted product portfolio to serve the market
  • Have a direct contact with suppliers and on back-to-back basis source and negotiate sourcing pricing of the sold volumes
  • Track, follow & analyze competition


  • >2 years’ experience in international trade of Chemicals in Africa
  • Prior experience in sales & sourcing of chemicals or raw materials
  • Proven track record of sales in Africa
  • Business school or Economics degree or equivalent through experience
  • Commercial mindset and strong communicator
  • Result driven, going for the extra mile
  • Understanding of international trade
  • Good knowledge of the logistic workstream & supply chain
  • Business development skills
  • Financial knowledge is a plus
  • Chemical background / knowledge is a plus
  • Willing to travel (30% of the time)
  • Fluency in French and English is an absolute must
